We strengthen reading proficiency by bringing community volunteers into classrooms in K-3rd grade for at least 30 minutes each week throughout the school year. Volunteers read one‑on‑one with a student or in a small group, depending on the teacher’s recommendation and the student’s needs. Because volunteers are not teachers, this program is not a replacement for Title I services. Instead, it provides targeted support for students who are just below benchmark—helping them build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and catch up to grade level. By pairing consistent adult support with intentional reading practice, our program helps students grow as readers and builds a stronger foundation for long‑term academic success
