Who We Are

Illowa Council strives to prepare every eligible youth in our area to become a responsible, participating citizen and leader who is guided by the principals of Scouting within our Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

What We Do

Cub Scouts is a program open to all youth in grades 1 through 5 that encourages character and skill development by providing boys with new, fun experiences. Scouting America is a program open to young men and women ages 11 to 17, culminating in the attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout. Each Troop is guided by the leadership of its Scouts and supported by adult volunteers. Venturing is a program open to young men and women ages 14 to 20. Venture Scouts are encouraged to create their own program entirely with an emphasis on High Adventure. Exploring is a program open to young men and women ages 14 to 20 that provides in-depth Career Exploration opportunities. Our goal is to empower young people by providing them opportunities to lead their peers, by instilling the values of the Scout Law, by encouraging a strong outdoor program, by recognizing youth for program advancements, by fostering positive relationships between youth and adult role models and by encouraging personal growth through service.
