Goodwill of the Heartland

Goodwill has a long history of offering job seeking skills training opportunities for people who face a variety of barriers, primarily people with disabilities . In 2015, Goodwill began a new service in Muscatine, opening our second Helms Career Center, which has no eligibility criteria, is free and open to the public to assist with job searches, resumes/cover letters, interview preparation, and offers basic computer skills and interviewing skills classes. We are located inside the Muscatine Goodwill store.

What we do:

At the Helms Career Center, we offer job seekers assistance with

Conducting Job Searches – both online and via an update job board

Completing Employment Applications – online and paper

Developing Resumes/Cover letters

Learning Basic Computer Skills

Exploring Career Options

Connecting with Community Resources

We also have four computer stations available for self-conducted job searches and online typing

tutorials.
