Area families need your help! COVID-19 has had a dramatic effect on all of us, but the impact on families has been especially hard. Even before this pandemic, over one-third of Muscatine County households were struggling each month to meet their most basic needs. With layoffs and virtual learning, many families are struggling to make ends meet. That leaves little room to cover the cost of those things that their children may need. Each year, in April, United Way of Muscatine holds a Community Baby Shower to help fill these needs.
The Community Baby Shower collects around 450 baby items to help our community every year. These items are distributed to the Community Diaper Bank, LSI HOPES Program, Muscatine Center for Social Action, Muscatine Community YMCA Family Services, The Salvation Army of Muscatine County and Trinity Public Health.
Some items collected are diapers, blankets, baby wash, shampoo, car seats, baby thermometers, wipes, formula, bottles and more! Monetary donations are welcome and help to fill in gaps as needed.
Please join us to support families in need in our community! 100% of your donation goes directly to help area families.
If you would like to host a baby shower or make a donation, please fill out the pledge form included. Please contact Nichole at 563-263-5963 or nichole@unitedwaymuscatine.org with any questions.
We are better together as we work for a better tomorrow. Live United! Thank you for your consideration and support!
